More Information on IP68 Protection

The watch's water resistance is rated IP68, meaning it's resistant to dust and brief immersion in water. The watch is not designed for diving, swimming, sauna use or prolonged immersion in water. Showering with this watch is not recommended, since the waterproof protection is designed for normal temperatures. High temperatures can deform this protection and allow water vapor to enter the device, which can lead to display or chip damage from corrosion.

If you're looking for a watch for diving or swimming, please choose one rated at least 5 ATM (water pressure test).

Important Notes:

• It's important to avoid contact with soapy water, salt water, or water containing shampoo, conditioner, etc. The IP test protocol uses clean drinking water for testing.
• All waterproof watches, whether electronic, mechanical or quartz, should not be worn while showering.
• Watches with IP68 protection are not suitable for swimming, since various movements while swimming change water pressure, which can cause water to enter the watch. Similar pressure fluctuation issues could occur, for example, when jumping into water.
• The main thing to avoid when using an IP68 watch in water is turning the crown (the rotating button on the side) or pressing the watch's buttons.

Examples of situations the watch can withstand water in:

• Washing hands
• Sweat
• Outdoor sports in the rain
• Accidentally dropping the watch in water

After contact with water, the watch must be dried thoroughly.

Other Important Notes:

Also keep in mind that IP68 protection isn't constant, but decreases over time and with use. If the watch case becomes worn, mechanically damaged, or has microscopic cracks in the seal, water can enter and cause damage.

How to proceed after contact with chemicals:

If the watch comes into contact with soap, shampoo, conditioner, skin lotions, perfume, solvents, detergents, acids, acidic foods, insect repellents, sunscreens, oil, hair dye or other substances besides water, it's important to rinse it immediately with clean lukewarm water and gently dry it with a lint-free cloth. These chemicals can damage the watch's seals and acoustic membranes.
